Four University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign students were awarded U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarships to study foreign languages this summer, including two from the School of Literatures, Cultures & Linguistics.

One faculty member and one graduate student from SLCL were among the recipients of HRI's 2024-25 fellowships.

Elizabeth Scherschel (she/her) is a junior in classics, with minors in history and anthropology. On campus, she is involved with the Student Alumni Ambassadors, the Stamps Scholars program, and the Writers Workshop.
