•             Asiya Ikhsanova (CWL): “Oral Hygiene in Film, Literature, and Advertisement in France, the U.S., and the U.S.S.R”. Advisors:  Lilya Kaganovsky and Rob Rushing. Recipient, Kibbee Prize for Outstanding Dissertation.

•             Jone Vicente Urrutia (Spanish and Portuguese): “Science, Sex and the Foreign: Sexology and Representations of Sexualities in the Spanish Fin de Siglo”.  Advisor: Joyce Tolliver

•             Christopher Gipson (Classics): “Anthropophagy and Cannibalism in Ancient Greek Literature”.  Advisor: Angeliki Tzanetou

•             Diana Sacilowski (Slavic Languages and Literatures): “Strategies of Silence: Representations of Jewish Poles in Polish Literature since the 1980s”. Advisor: George Gasyna

•             Francesco Ferrari (French and Italian) : The Ghostly Body of the Future, Nostalgic Objects and Modernization in Post-Unitarian and Post-Fascist Italy”.  Advisor: Emanuel Rota

•             Shaodan Zhang (EALC): “Longstanding Natives and Dispersed Minorities: Sino-Muslims, Public Culture, and Identification in the Qing Empire, 1600-1900”.  Advisor: Kai-Wing Chow.
