The School of Literatures, Cultures & Linguistics welcomed 11 new faculty members this fall.

They join a group of talented faculty who lead externally funded and nationally recognized research projects, author major books and articles, and receive national and international awards and fellowships for their scholarship, service, and teaching.

They include as follows:

Yamile Ferreira Teixeira, assistant professor, Department of Spanish & Portuguese

Eduardo Manuel Garcia-Molina, assistant professor, Department of Classics

Shelby King, lecturer, Department of Religion

Dorothy Maweu, instructor, director of Sub-Saharan Languages Program, and coordinator of Swahili 

Scott Nelson, assistant professor, Department of Linguistics

Lydia Newkirk, visiting assistant professor, Department of Linguistics

Belinda Qian He, assistant professor, Department of East Asian Languages & Cultures
