Three professors honored by LAS for contributions to research and education

The College of LAS has honored three SLCL professors with named scholar and professorship positions in recognition of their contributions to research and education at the University of Illinois.

They're part of a group of 15 professors receiving named positions including the I. C. Gunsalus Scholar, the Helen Corley Petit Scholars, and the LAS Dean’s Distinguished Professorial Scholars. 

The awardees from the school are as follows:

Helen Corley Petit Scholar

The Helen Corley Petit Scholar recognizes early career faculty members for their scholarship and teaching. Recipients hold the title for one academic year and receive support for their research and teaching.

The LAS Dean’s Distinguished Professorial Scholars award is presented to excellent faculty who are under consideration to be promoted from associate to full professor. Recipients hold the title for one academic year and receive support for their research and teaching.
