Rodrigo Delgado, Spanish and Portuguese, is one of five assistant professors from the UIUC campus selected for the 2021-2022 National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity – Faculty Success Program (NCFDD), organized by the Provost Office.

The NCFDD Faculty Success Program is an intense, 12-week, online-based program through which participants learn strategies to increase their research productivity, gain control of their time, and live a full and healthy life beyond campus. The program is designed to transform the personal and professional life of participants.

According to UIUC’s Office of the Provost website, the program is intended for tenure-track and tenured faculty members “who are looking for the perfect combination of empirically tested methods to improve research productivity through intense accountability, coaching, and peer support and to propel their work-life balance and personal growth to a completely new level.”

Delgado earned his MA and PhD degrees from the University of Illinois at Chicago. His research interests include bilingualism, code-switching, heritage speakers, Spanish in the U.S., grammatical gender, and preposition stranding. He joined the Department of Spanish and Portuguese in 2020.
