John Barnard, Comparative & World Literature, Helen Corley Petit Scholar
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences recently announced its list of named scholars, and there are some familiar names in it, including:
- John Barnard (Comparative and World Literature): Helen Corley Petit Scholar, for extraordinary achievement by an early career scholar.
- Tania Ionin (Linguistics): Lynn M. Martin Scholar, for extraordinary achievement in teaching and research by a woman scholar
- Mariselle Meléndez (Spanish and Portuguese): LAS Alumni Distinguished Professorial Scholar, for extraordinary achievement in research, teaching and service.
- Valeria Sobol (Slavic Languages and Literatures): LAS Dean’s Distinguished Professorial Scholar, for extraordinary achievement in research and teaching.
“These named scholars have been chosen for their energy, creativity, and record of excellence in teaching and research, as well as for evidence of service and future potential,” said L. Elena Delgado, Director of the School of Literatures, Cultures and Linguistics.
