New faculty: Adam Newman, Religion

Adam Newman is a new Lecturer in Religion. He received his PhD in 2019 from the University of Virginia. His research interests include Hinduism, the religious and political history of South Asia, Sanskrit literature, Purāṇas, sacred space and landscape, and religious conceptions of the body. During the fall semester here at Illinois, Dr. Newman is teaching “Asian Mythology” and “Hindu Epics”.
