Director's Office

The Director is the Chief Executive Officer of the School of Literatures, Cultures, and Linguistics. His/her responsibilities and duties include the coordination of interdisciplinary and interdepartmental programs in the School as well as being the liaison with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and other administrative units of the University. The Director serves as Chair of the School's Executive Committee, presides over the meetings of the department Heads and program Directors, recommends faculty and staff appointments, reappointments, promotions, and leaves to the Dean of LAS in consultation with the units' Executive Officers. The Director oversees the budget, research laboratories and non-academic staffing needs of the School, and determines a policy for the use of space in the Foreign Languages Building.
