Jazmine Summerville is the new Office Support Associate on the second floor of the FLB. She comes to the SLCL from Jefferson Middle School in Champaign, where for the past seven years she has been a Teacher’s Assistant.

Jazmine earned a B.A. in English from Lewis University. She enjoys reading and likes to write poetry. Her favorite authors include Maya Angelou, Langston Hughes, and James Patterson. She says she also tries to keep up with young adult literature.

While working at Jefferson Middle School, Jazmine became a mentor to a junior high student who is now a student at Champaign’s Centennial High. This work is part of the C-U One-to-One Mentoring program, which is a school-based mentoring program of the Champaign Unit 4 and Urbana District #116 Schools.

​Her husband, Darius, is Senior IT Field Consultant for Tech Services on campus. Jazmine and Darius currently have two children, a daughter, age 8, and a son, age 2 and are expecting another, due in June.  

Jazmine’s first day was Thursday, Jan. 16, so please drop by 2090 FLB and welcome her to the SLCL!
