Spanish Advisor Tasha Robles has been awarded the Advisor of the Year award by the University of lllinois United Greek Council (UGC).

The award is student-originated and all campus advisors are considered for this distinction.

“The fact that the Council elected to choose Tasha underscores both the outstanding job she does in advising our students and the formidable experience that the students gain when working with Tasha,” said Mariselle Meléndez, Professor and Head of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. “We are very lucky to have Tasha as our Spanish advisor and we are very proud that her remarkable work is recognized at the campus level.”

The United Greek Council an umbrella organization that consists of more than 20 cultural fraternities and sororities. UGC serves “to promote culture, enhance personal and professional development, maintain a strong focus on service and provide an emphasis on academic excellence in higher education through programming and collaborative events.” All Illinois fraternities and sororities are each affiliated with a council.
