Eric Calderwood, Assistant Professor of Comparative and World Literature, recently received an honorable mention in the William Riley Parker Prize competition for an outstanding article published in PMLA, the association’s journal of literary scholarship.

The title of the article is “Franco’s Hajj: Moroccan Pilgrims, Spanish Fascism, and the Unexpected Journeys of Modern Arabic Literature,” and it appeared in the October 2017 issue of PMLA.

“As we all know, publishing in PMLA is extremely competitive, and this award highlights the broad impact of Eric’s outstanding scholarship,” said L. Elena Delgado, Professor of Spanish and Portuguese, and Acting Director, School of Literatures, Cultures and Linguistics.
